Question by Mike N: HELP PLEASE. Would you rather have a 1993 Lexus Ls400 or a newer 2003 Chevy Caliver. Both worth ,000?
The thing is the 1993-1994 Lexus LS400 was one of the most reliable bult cars. and the chevy is not. But the chevy is way newer. Also keep in mind the Lexus was worth $ 50,000 new. And the Chevy was worth $ 16,000 new! Thanks for all the answers. Please also explain your answer if you have time,,,thanks (PS. I LIVE IN AMERICA)

okay first off chevy’s are decently reliable cars. i own a 94 chevy corsica. it does have an attendency to be fixed at least once every three months. but, only little problems occur. the reliablity of a car depends on how the previous owner treated it and how you will treat it. i’d say get the one you think is more reliable and the one you think was treated better. also take into consideration how many miles the car has on it. miles are the deciding factor most times to determine how long the cars gonna last. i also know that i am young and haven’t had much experience with cars and buying them but, my mom’s boyfriend has and he wouldn’t help me get a car that he didn’t think would be reliable. i hope i helped.

Question by =D: How do you install an infant car seat and a convertable car seat side-by-side in a Lexus?
We are expecting a new baby in a month and we still can’t figure out how to install our Peg Perego infant car seat in the center of the backseat and our toddler’s convertable car seat right next to it. We currently own a Lexus GX470.

Then don’t. Put the infant seat on one side and the toddler seat on the other.

Question by synergyman78: What brand of audio speakers are in Honda cars/trucks?
the audio quality in this one Honda i rode in was fantastic!! maybe it was because of the high-quality audio-system, the speakers, the antenna or any other factor for that matter. i am curious, however, as to what brand of speakers Honda mainly uses in most of their cars (i know some “premium” audio “packages” have it better than the “basic, bottom-rung” models). but even this Honda in particular was a bottom-of-the-line LX trim model and the sound quality from the radio was still good, better than Toyota’s i would say. like for instance, Toyota uses JBL brand-name speakers (as indicated by their respective logos), Lexus uses Mark Levinson (prestigious for their prominence in the best home-entertainment systems) and they used to use Nakamichi (which is still good but is no more) back in the 90’s, Nissan/Infiniti both use Bose as do others, and Hyundai is currently testing out Infinity (not to be confused with Nissan’s luxury-division “Infiniti” spelled differently) brand audio-systems in their cars (kudos, Hyundai!). in fact, the new Hyundai Genesis exclusively offers an optional premium audio-system package that is the precise replica (or equivalent) of the one used in the Rolls-Royce Phantom sedan. “how sweet the sound!”

Question by ezlou18: Lexus IS300 6 player CD changer will not eject any of the 6 CD’s nor play. What can I do?
Best answer:
Answer by sirquest2001
Lexus IS300s are known for this problem, if your vehicle is out
of warranty, than expect to pay $ 600 on up. If you are mechanically inclined and want your cds back and are willing
to break your changer/radio then remove the unit and take
out your cds

Question by bryce w: im looking in to getting a 2003 lexus is300?
it has 116k on it so i was wondering if at $ 8500 is that a good deal?
and how long do thes cars usually last mileage wise?

Answer by dale a
I’ve seen them with over 200,000 miles on them. The better you take care of it the longer they last. I would say have a mechanic check out the car. Check tires, brakes and suspension make sure you know if you have to put any money into it. If it’s sound has good tires and brakes 8500 sounds good.

Question by Brian T: how long would it take a lexus to fall 4000 feet, and what would be the velocity?
I just saw a Lexus commercial. It had (simulated, of course) one Lexus dropped from a helicopeter from 4000 feet. It had another one on the ground, which started from a dead stop 4000 feet from where the dropped Lexus would hit. The driven car passed underneath the dropped vehicle before the dropped one hit the ground. So, in theory, the driven car was moving faster than the dropped one. Unfortunately, my math skills aren’t up to figuring out how fast either car was moving, and how long it took them to get up to that speed. Any one with an answer? And thanks in advance.

Distance traveled under constant acceleration
s=.5gt^2
t=sqrt(2s/g)
g=32 ft/s^2 then
t=sqrt(2 x 4000/32)
t=15.81sec
Velocity under constant acceleration is
V=at
or V=gt in this case
V=32 x 15.81sec=505 ft/sec
V=344 m/h
Even considering the air braking the commercial is pushing the limits of reality.

Question by Lisa B: Lexus LS400 – Battery? Starter? Other? – Help?
I have a 1995 Lexus LS400. I have neglected it a bit in the past six months, by neglected I mean I haven’t driven it or started it in six months. When I tried to start it last night it wouldn’t start at all, no interior lights, no automatic door locks, nada. So I jumped it, drove it around the block and it drove just fine. This morning I checked on it to see if a jump was all it needed and once again, nada. The battery was replaced about 7 months ago (I forgot to turn off an interior light ). Could the battery have completely died again due to not using the car? or am I looking at something more expensive than a battery replacement?

Sounds like corroded cable ends or maybe a bad alternator. Jump it off & drive it to a parts store & get them to check your electrical system.
